In the spring of 2010, IAM's NOOR Eye Care Program opened a new training hospital, Ophthalmic Training Center, to provide a clinical setting for its ophthalmic training programs.

OTC focuses on providing clinical experience for mid level eye care professionals including Ophthalmic Technicians, Assistants, Nurses, and Refractionists as well as ophthalmic residents. OTC is also running a one and a half year Ophthalmology residency program specifically designed for doctors from the neediest parts of the country. In partnership with clinical training, OTC provides primary and secondary eye care to an under-served area of Kabul.
