The knowledge of the English language opens a world of resources to professionals and students. This is important for a developing country like Afghanistan. The English training project aims to train students in higher-level English skills, as well as to train effective Afghan English teachers.
Knowledge of the English language is a marketable skill in Afghanistan. Graduates of the EFL courses are highly employable, and many have been able to find excellent employment opportunities in embassies and aid and development organizations.

“Education is your key to the future”, Dad always said, but as a teenager in Kabul, my city in ruins, my parents had no work - what future for a teenage boy like me? I started an English course at the IAM English School. It was tough but eventually I had learned enough to apply for a job that required English. Today, 6 years on, I am Acting Manager of a large relief organisation and you can guess what I’m telling my kids!!
